About the job

The Red Hat Release Engineering team is looking for a Project Manager to join us in the East Coast Time Zone. In this role, you will work as part of the Release team and be responsible for the proper configuration of tools, services, and processes in order to handle the complete life cycle of the releases of our offerings. You’ll own the planning, delivery, and communication of time-sensitive projects. This role will focus heavily on task management, internal and external team communication, and balancing project priorities, all while working in a fast-paced global environment.

What you will do

  • Follow on submitted business problems by the initiation of the activity. 
  • Work with Product Owner to understand project priority and requirements, and relay status as needed.
  • Wrap-up required product features prioritized by Product Owner into projectized work packages for development engineers.
  • Plan and document all aspects of a specific project being driven. Monitors metrics and reports progress.
  • Oversee the execution of assigned project and work package activities across all phases of their lifecycle.
  • Project Manager is in contact with Scrum Master to see the progress of the team.
  • Work with Scrum Master and Product Owner to secure resources and forecast completion dates.

What you will bring

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and release engineering background preferred.
  • Ability to take over initial project input and break it down into manageable and timely-phased smaller pieces.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to directly interact with other teams
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Understanding of Planning techniques
  • Complex thinking
