Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for directing the financial administration of grants, which includes: overseeing the preparation of budgets and budget narratives for grant applications; preparing budget amendments; preparing grant financial reports; preparing grant expenditure projections; approving all grant-related expenditures (requisitions and travel); overseeing the creation of grant cost centers and grant cost center budgets for entry into SAP (HHC’s electronic accounting system); overseeing the preparation of grant subcontracts and the payment of grant subcontract invoices; overseeing subcontract monitoring; and serving as a liaison to the HHC Finance Department. Supervises Grants Department staff working at HHC/MCPHD.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required. 
  • Five or more year’s related experience and/or training in grant post award activities 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience is also required 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to manage and maintain internal and external relationships and eliminate the need for direct program management from senior Leaders 
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, and/or grant funders. 
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from corporation personnel, funding agencies, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret state and federal regulations pertinent to public health issues and grant funded programs, financial reports, and legal documents 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Firm understanding of program development and grant writing as well as good management abilities.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, including attention to details.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of the job with little supervisory oversight.
