Red Arch Solutions is Hiring a Data Engineer Near Reston, VA

***Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required***

Red Arch Solutions is looking for a Data Engineer to support our client. 

Responsibilities: 

· Act as a trusted advisor to the MARS Program on cloud service architecture, DevOps and System Engineering practices. 

· Analyze, execute, streamline and automate DevOps processes with the right tools and technologies for a given requirement. 

· Provide recommendations for DevOps/Agile process improvements and efficiencies. 

· Aid the customer in leveraging DevOps/Agile principles to define capability roadmaps, cloud architecture, solution alternatives, and recommendations. 

· Develop agile business transformation tools and processes by adopting to DevOps methodologies. 

· Implement DevOps processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC); architect solutions on cloud platforms leveraging Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines; conduct configuration management activities using state of the art tools and services (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Anisble, Terraform, Kubernetes); monitor the cloud resources performance; and optimize cloud resource costs. 

· Research industry best practices to build secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available services using cloud services and open-source data frameworks. 

· Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiencies in otherwise time-consuming data operations involving large datasets.· 

· Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

· Must have an active/current TS/SCI with poly. 

· Must have at least 10 years’ experience in cloud engineering or related field. 

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience with a Master's degree or advanced training in information technology. 

· Experience setting up AWS infrastructure, VCPs, and security user groups and roles. 

· Strong experiences with multiple AWS services IIAM, Cloud Formation/Formation Templates, CloudWatch, ECS, Lamda, …). 

· Deep understanding and hands-on knowledge of AWS technologies such as: 

· Implementing high availability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery 

· CloudFront and Edge locations 

· Compute services using EC2, Lambda, Beanstalk, EKS, ECS 

· Data services using S3, EBS, EFS 

· Databases such as RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, RedShift,  

· Real time data analytics using data streams such as Kinesis 

· Setting up, configuring and using Snowball devices for both compute and data  

· Security configurations using IAM, Security Groups, NACL, WAF, PKI, ACM, KMS, CloudHSM 

· Demonstrated understanding and experience in AWS architecture 

· Familiarity with DevOps Tools such as: CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, etc 

· Familiarity with containers and container management frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

· Experiences with CI tools 

· Relevant technical Skills (e.g. scripting, Python, etc.) 

· Excellent communication skills with customer, team, and leadership. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

· AWS Certifications or other cloud certifications 

· Deep understanding of AWS architecture 

· Ability to employ problem solving techniques to unique situations. 

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. 

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 

Travel Requirements:  

· Travel may be required within Washington National Capital Region (NCR) and other organizational locations CONUS and OCONUS on an as-needed basis for customer or corporate requirements. 

Level of Responsibility: 

Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment concerning matters of administrative/operational needs. 

Level of Supervision Required: 

The supervisor sets the overall objectives and resources available. The employee plans and carries out the assignment resolves most of the conflicts, coordinates work with others and interpret policy on own initiative. The employee keeps the supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications.  

Work Environment: 

· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. 

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate within a team environment.  

· Ability to type, sitting or standing, to complete work functions for hours at a time; ability to move between sitting, standing and walking on a frequent basis.  This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week on site, Monday through Friday, within the contract hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
