Recover-Care is Hiring a Clinical Educator Near Gardner, KS

Walk ins welcome, Monday- Friday 9am to 4pm

POSITION SUMMARY:The Clinical Educator is responsible for providing both area and center-based clinical educational programs.This includes evaluating, in collaboration with the Center’s CNO and ACNO, the educational needs of individual centers to enhance clinical competencies, and serving as a resource to plan and implement programs to meet these needs.

The Clinical Educator will be supervised and mentored by the Senior Clinical Educator.

The Clinical Educator may have expertise in a specific area, such as wound care, MDS, social services, infusion, or infection control.S/he will use this specialty focus to support Area and Center goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.Collaborate with the Senior Clinical Educator to assess center and area clinical capabilities and educational needs, and provide consistent, quality clinical training and education.

2.Present clinical educational programs in response to assessed staff needs.

3.Assist centers to implement clinical orientation programs to prepare newly hired staff to meet the needs of the changing population.

4.Participate with Director of Nursing and Administrator in orienting and mentoring Staff Development Coordinators.

5.Provide support and resources to center-based Staff Development Coordinators.

6.Participate as appropriate on assigned Corporate Practice Councils.

7.Participate on area committees as assigned.

8.Additional responsibilities for the Clinical Educator in his/her area of expertise or specialty focus include:

*Collaborate with area management team to determine specific needs.

*Collaborate with Area VP/Director of Quality to monitor area and center outcomes in order to identify patterns/trends, and to intervene appropriately.

*Develop ongoing system for implementation and support of center-based programs related to the educator’s area of expertise/specialty focus.

*Provide Center review and evaluation of processes as indicated/requested.

*Support Managers, Clinical Operations and other Area Clinical Educators by:

*Assisting with clinical programs in area of expertise/specialty focus, and

Providing Center consultation regarding expertise/specialty focus as indicated/requested.

* Providing written and verbal communication of observations and results of education needs and program attendance of center staff.

* Maintain specialty expertise through professional and educational memberships, meetings and workshops.

*Provide opportunities for Center staff to obtain or maintain clinical competencies.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.RN or Bachelors Degree preferred.

2.Certification in specialty area preferred.

3.Three years full-time equivalent clinical experience is required. 

4.Previous experience in teaching adults. Ability to work with adult learners.

5.Must be able to travel.
