About the Role:  

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative I to join our growing team! Reporting into the Business Development Manager within Marketing, this role will help our customer-facing sales team sell more effectively and efficiently by seeking new business opportunities through contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. 

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 1-2 years of experience as a business development representative or marketing development representative, generating leads from both inbound and outbound tactics while meeting monthly sales quotas. You will use your strategic communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with prospects to help move them through the funnel. Key Role Responsibilities:  

  • Generate and qualify leads for net-new and cross-sell business opportunities
  • Craft outbound and inbound campaigns consisting of cold calls, email, and social networks
  • Employ good follow-up and management practices to provide exceptional prospect/client service
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge and be an industry expert within the IT market
  • Be a key partner to Marketing, Customer Success and Sales driving campaign initiatives
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
  • Report to the Business Development Manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls, outbound sequencing, account-based marketing)
  • 1-2 years experience as a BDR or MDR
  • Proven track record of achieving quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Driven professional with the ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced, and growing environment
  • B2B experience required – start up, IT/Tech strongly preferred

Preferred Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Experience with CRM software by maintaining and entering prospects and new sales information (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal partners
