Rebellion Defense is Hiring a Remote Lead People Partner

Our Rebellion:

Rebellion Defense builds mission-focused AI products for the defense and security of the United States, the United Kingdom, and our allies. We are a well capitalized, venture-backed technology company that creates software which transforms data into decision advantage.

Our people are passionate about creating a company where technologists empower our military and civil servants to solve some of the hardest problems in government. Rebellion Defense is driven by our mission — but a set of core values binds us together: we hire by them, operate through them, and uphold them in every decision we make for ourselves and for our customers.

At Rebellion, the People team is dedicated to building and supporting high performing teams while cultivating a meaningful employee experience. As the Lead People Partner, you will be focused on understanding and solving complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions. This role will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and be able to translate them into HR initiatives. You will help business leaders better understand the needs of their workforce and provide data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience. Working alongside other managers and leaders, you will create a people strategy that will enable Rebellion to carry out against company goals. You will challenge conventional wisdom and transform the way things have typically been done.

This position is based either in Washington D.C. or can be remote and reports to the Chief People Officer.

What your mission is:

  • Partner with leaders to understand the needs and challenges of their businesses and determine how to address them through people-focused initiatives
  • Collaborate with leaders across the company to nurture and enhance team performance and organizational effectiveness
  • Use data to understand trends that will improve employee experience and guide business priorities
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: organizational design, management coaching, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, performance management, and compensation.
  • Assist the People Operations team in rolling out new programs such as performance management, calibration, benefits, compensation changes, etc.
  • Drive improvements to our culture and the employee experience

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Are passionate about aligning people’s values and desire for meaningful impact with roles and positions that allow them and the business to excel
  • Have experience working as an HR Business Partner or People Partner, serving as a trusted advisor about how people contribute to business success.
  • Skillfully share the mission, vision, and values of the company, both externally and internally
  • Have an ability to balance and shift between strategic and tactical priorities
  • Have experience advising leaders on how to manage compensation.
  • Are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and dynamic environments
  • Can balance the needs of employees, managers, and the business to find win-win solutions to challenges that may arise

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $200,000 to $300,000 regardless of final candidate location within the US. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity. Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Rebellion Defense. Disclosure as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.

The Nature of our Work: We are driving fast change to an extremely regulated industry. Many of the national security programs that are supported by Rebellion’s products operate in secure environments and access to those spaces and the data in them may require an active personnel security clearance. It is a requirement of this position that you are able to obtain and hold a personnel security clearance at the right level.
