OMNI is honored to be retained by Reaching Out from Within in their search for an Executive Director. This position is responsible for managing organization operations, including operations, program management and expansion, fundraising and events.

Reaching Out from Within (ROFW) was established in 1982 in Kansas as an incarcerated-led program that empowers residents to transform themselves and heal each other. It is a national leader in rehabilitation programs and offers an opportunity for a “whole person” transformation for incarcerated individuals who want to make lasting changes in their behavior in order to become a role model for nonviolence, while still incarcerated, and becoming contributing members upon their return to our communities. ROFW is currently offered within every prison in Kansas and several in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Embrace the mission, vision and values of ROFW and inspire others to use their skills, abilities, and connections to help further the mission.
• Provide leadership and direction for all strategic and operational planning, programs, and fundraising initiatives to amplify the organization's impact.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility including reporting, compliance, and budget management.
• Oversee the organization’s fund development efforts, effectively utilizing the Board, staff, and volunteers in support of these efforts.
• Increase organization visibility through the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan; serve as the spokesperson for the organization in coordination with the founder.
• Work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the strategic goals of the organization.
• This position has the opportunity to be either a contract employee or a full-time employee of the organization.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive experience in non-profit leadership and management, with demonstrated success in managing operations, leading teams, marketing, and fundraising.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Ability to be approved as a volunteer in corrections in Kansas and potentially other states.
• Proven ability to build strong external relationships with funders, donors, volunteers, public officials, and partner organizations.
• Track record of success in strategic planning, grant management, financial management, fund development and marketing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to work in close collaboration with the founder.
