Raytheon Solipsys, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX). Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.
We are currently looking for a candidate to serve as a Systems Engineer on challenging software development projects. Emphasis at this level is System integration and performance verification of the Raytheon Solipsys suite of products with some minor involvement in requirements definition and design. The successful candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies at our Fulton, Maryland office (in Maple Lawn). Position is a flexible, hybrid role with some time required on-site in Fulton each month and opportunity to work from home on other days.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- System requirements analysis, definition and management
- System architecture design and Trade studies
- Technical support for software development team
- Systems integration and functional and performance requirements verification
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Working knowledge of Linux Operating System and Java and C software languages.
- Experience with standard MS Office product suite applications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
Qualifications We Value:
- Proven knowledge of advanced mathematics principles, using calculus.
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Previous experience as an intern or summer hire, working for a DoD contractor.
- Ability to understand and apply commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).
- Ability to learn to use of Requirements Management software, such as DOORS.
- Ability to develop skills using a system architecture development tool, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect or Rational Suite.
- General knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, Unix, and Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, working as part of a team
- Advanced knowledge of standard MS Office product suite applications
- Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel (~5%)
This job requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). No prior relevant experience in engineering or other technical positions is necessary, but it is preferred.
