Description
Provide manufacturing process and application support to our assembly, service, & quality department. This position will play a critical role in continuous improvement efforts, to help guarantee successful manufacturing output, uphold our quality standards, and help ensure our equipment's reliability to improve our customers overall satisfaction.
Requirements
- Provide assembly, service, & quality with manufacturing engineering support by helping improve manufacturing and quality processes during the assembly build procedure.
- Help validate and improve QAP'S (Quality assurance plans) QTP'S (Quality test plans) & QIP'S (Quality inspection plans) as it pertains to how the equipment is manufactured, built, tested, inspected and installed.
- Help support engineering with design changes and suggestions that will make products more cost effective, easier to manufacture, assemble, and service.
- Support assembly team to help ensure direct labor is utilizing consistent GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and that the products are being built with a high level of integrity and properly tested prior to shipment.
- Identify opportunities for improvement regarding how the equipment is being manufactured, built, tested, and inspected.
- Develop standard work and training documentation regarding the assembly, quality testing and installation process.
- Ensure dependability of the process on the equipment being built within GED.
- Assessing and improving reliability, analyzing failure data, and collaborating with various teams to enhance overall machinery performance and improve successful manufacturing output.
- Implement and optimize equipment build strategies to enhance system dependability.
- Analyze failure data to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address reliability issues.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators related to machinery reliability.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Provide training and support to ensure proper implementation of reliability initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
- 10 or more years' experience in industrial equipment manufacturing with practical focus on building and testing capital equipment.
- 5-10 years' experience working with direct labor in mechanical assembly type setting developing processes.
- 5-10 years' experience directly related to validating machinery as built to its specifications.
- Previous experience managing projects and working cross functionally between an array of departments preferably within a vertical integrated operation.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret GD&T and quality requirements.
- Prior experience working in ERP system and high functioning in Microsoft office excel, word, power point etc.
- Ability to process and analyze data to help identify anomalies and develop key metrics.
- Prior experience working with equipment utilized in the production of IG (Insulated glass) and fenestration is a plus.
Will spend a significant amount of time within the assembly cells. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and endure standard assembly work environment.
