JOB OVERVIEW

The Procurement Manager will lead a team of buyers / purchasing coordinators. The ideal candidate will maintain a hands-on approach to professionalizing the process and have a passion for creating processes to sustain expected growth. Job tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop an expert level understanding of the bill of materials for all manufactured products.
• Own the inventory management and planning modules within the company’s ERP.
• Analyze data to perfect the MRP process:
  • Evaluate minimum and maximum stock levels, reorder points, scrap factors, and other key metrics for existing products.
  • Work with members of the engineering team to establish said metrics as part of the new product development life cycle.
• Work with key members of the production and sales teams to understand the needs of the business based on historical usage and expected growth.
• Supply the production scheduling team with timely and reliable data to effectively coordinate production priorities.
• Utilize data to effectively facilitate vendor management and accountability.
• Utilize and/or develop best practices, processes, and procedures concurrent with company’s mission and vision.
• Provide analysis and solutions that will continually drive improvement with respect to purchasing, consumption, material replenishment parameters, inventory actual versus forecast, and cycle counts.
• Adopt lean practices through KANBAN, VMI, etc; lead the identification of excessive and obsolete inventory items; partnering with manufacturing, quality, and finance personnel to develop and maintain disposition actions.
• Work cross-functionally with all business partners to ensure compliance with all business practices and KPI’s while continually advocating and implementing business practices that will drive world-class inventory systems. This will also include the annual execution of the physical inventory reconciliation.
• Work with materials management team to ensure the accurate recording (receiving and stocking) with respect to quality, quantity, type, etc. of inventory so company has clear visibility of availability of parts and items.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a purchasing / procurement roles within a manufacturing organization.
• Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
• An analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or relevant field preferred.
• APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
• LEAN / Six Sigma a plus.
