We're a startup creative web design and marketing agency operating out of Logan, UT. We specialize in creating extraordinary websites through 3D, video, and unique custom animations. We pride ourselves in being able to create website other agencies can't that simply rely on basic WordPress editing and other website building tools. We are a very small team and our company is new, but we're excited to grow and hope you can grow with us!

Position Description

Our client list is expanding and we want to build our web development team by bringing on a full time web developer who will work closely with clients, our account managers, designers, and other web developers to create unique websites. A lot of our work is with CMS systems like Webflow, Shopify, and WordPress - especially Wordpress. There will also be opportunities to work on web apps, backend systems, and miscellaneous internal projects that come up. Above all, we're looking for a self-starter with a creative mind and desire to think outside the box, with background in user experience and website design. There will be lots of opportunities to diversify your skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with designers and clients to review designs and give input on user experience and developability
• Help brainstorm cool animations, layouts, better user experiences, and out of the box solutions for designs -- help bridge the gap between the user, designer, and backend understanding of a website
• Use CMS systems to create organized, thought-out websites and code that allow repeatability and scalability
• Perform QA, diagnose, and fix bugs with existing sites
• Deploy websites & do initial hosting & DNS configurations
• Monitor Slack & email channels for incoming dev requests
• Brainstorm & collaborate with other designers, developers, and clients to create unique and lasting web experiences for all users
• Desire to learn and take initiative; if you think there's a problem, speak up and present solutions!

The Most Important Skills

• Modern HTML/CSS skills (Responsive layout, Flexbox, grid, block, inline, colors, padding, margin, box shadow, media queries, etc.)
• Javascript skills - ability to create interactive elements in a user interface like buttons, modals, API integrations
• WordPress theme or builder experience
• PHP skills or similar transferrable skills and a desire to learn
• Familiarity with some sort of builder tool: WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace
• Attention to details! Especially when it comes to responsiveness & designing for multiple screen sizes and user audiences
• Good eye for design and basic design concepts of alignment, contrast, spacing, etc.

Bonus Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Aria and accessibility concepts
• WordPress plugin development
• Shopify
• Familiarity with React or Vue
• Python
• Familiarity with modern animation libraries like lotties, GSAP, etc.
• General design skills - We use Figma especially, and some Adobe Illustrator, but the eye for design is more important than the software : )

Pay

Pay for this position will be salary ranging from $52,000 - $56,000/yr paid twice a month.

In addition, we have a generous equity compensation plan. You would be one of our first 10 hires and would receive dividends and vesting opportunities in case the company were ever sold. On the occasion, we also sometimes do referral commissions for client leads & other bonus pay.

Hours and Location

This is a full-time position. We're looking for 40hrs/wk, though week by week that can be a flexible number, as long as you're getting work done and hitting an average of 40hrs/wk. We respect powder days, just make sure stuff gets done, and make up the hours. We also have PTO, sick days, and a unique holiday plan.

We have flexible hours and location as well. We have an office on Center st. w/ some monitors and snacks, we usually do all-hands meetings on Mondays and a few other meetings scattered throughout the week, but if you want to work from home most days that's not an issue.
