The Intern – Project Management assists with processing all requirements and agreements to help move projects to construction under the supervision of the Project Manager or other staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review DWR’s on a daily basis
• Create invoice templates for each job
• Create project folders on share drive
• Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
• Possess basic oral and written communication skills
• Interact with other staff
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Required Education and Experience:

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program or a related field.
• Prior coursework or training in civil engineering fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of engineering software applications.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Completion of coursework related to utilities infrastructure design and analysis.
• Familiarity with railroad engineering principles and practices.
• Internship or co-op experience in a civil engineering or utilities engineering role.
• Proficiency in utilities-related engineering software and tools.
• Knowledge of construction practices and construction management principles.
