We are currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant who will report directly to the Accounting Manager. The Staff Accountant will ensure meaningful and accurate financial recordkeeping to support business controls and decision making. What we need you to accomplish:

  • Accurately perform general accounting activities to maintain timely records reflecting actual financial results of the organization. Regular activities include reviewing and approving A/P transaction, performing journal entries, trial balance, monthly financial statements, and A/P and A/R account analysis.
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations, complete fixed asset/depreciation entries, journal entries and analyses to ensure accurate financial records. Assist in preparation of balance sheet, income and cash flow forecasts.
  • Serve as a back-up on key cost accounting functions, including BOM creation and revisions, inventory reconciliations, and cost rolls as needed.
  • Support external auditors in preparation of worksheets and analysis and other related data requested as part of the corporation’s financial audits.
  • Develop operational reports for budget reporting and annual budget package for all departments.
  • Work with accounting support members on day-to-day work, training on procedures and systems and ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization. Sustain 6S program, supporting team members and reporting repeat variation to leadership.
  • Work safely, following all safety policies and proactively participating in the safe work of others and the safety of the overall environment.
  • Perform other miscellaneous support work to enable the team to be successful and as requested by administrative leadership.
  • Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers, and/or government agencies.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 2 years of general accounting and standard cost accounting experience, with some exposure to accounting specific to the manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office suite of products, particularly Excel and experience utilizing standard corporate accounting software to support GAAP.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in working with numbers.
  • ERP system experience preferred- IQMS or Oracle is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others, educating non-financial members on basics of accounting and budgeting.
