Summary of Position:

RSC is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team (“FP&A”). The FP&A team provides support and insight to the organization in the areas of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. We work collaboratively with cross-functional business partners to enable thoughtful and strategic decision-making.

The Financial Analyst role will play an integral part in providing analytical and strategic perspective to the organization, specifically as point person for identified business units but also more broadly across the organization. This role will partner with business partners to deliver insights and recommendations to key stakeholders. Success requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, big picture perspective, self-motivation, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed financial models to deliver insightful reporting, develop multiple scenarios and provide recommendations to stakeholders
• Analyze financial and operational information to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for strategic decision-making purposes, highlighting both risks and opportunities
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and maintaining rolling forecasts (at the business unit and company level).
• Work collaboratively with business partners, providing analytical insights to plan for and monitor the success of initiatives
• Works to continually improve processes, financial projections, and operating forecasts
• Gather, analyze, and interpret operational metrics to understand underlying drivers of business performance
• Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior year
• Assist with preparation of internal reporting and monthly presentation materials
• Other special projects as requested by management such as market research, evaluating new projects/investment opportunities and ad-hoc analysis.

Technical Qualifications:

• Beginner to Intermediate SQL required
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel required
• Some experience in R preferred
• Tableau experience is a plus
• Programs FP&A team utilize in order of most used to least used: Excel, SQL, R, Oracle and Tableau

Other Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience of relevant corporate analytical or financial planning experience
• Ability to identify tasks or reports that can be automated and proposed/execute automation
• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Finance or Accounting preferred
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Self-motivated (key attribute) and a strong communicator
• Ability to focus on detail without losing sight of the larger business perspective
• Ability to be agile by multi-tasking to support multiple projects
• General knowledge of financial/operational principles
