Basic Function:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the overall quality of a plant location.

Essential Functions:

1. Reduce the non-conformance rate and repeat quality issues that occur in manufacturing processes.
2. Manage return goods and customer complaint programs.
3. Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
4. Facilitate lean daily management efforts and problem-solving projects for top occurrence non-conformances and ensure internal corrective actions and NCR are logged, prioritized, and completed on time.
5. Design, implement, and sustain inspection, non-conformance, corrective action, and product quality monitoring and measurement processes. This includes developing procedures, work instructions, PFMEA’s, and control plans; conducting training; and auditing implemented processes.
6. Enforce and personally supervise process adherence through process management, employee training and the non-conformance and problem-solving processes.
7. Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
8. Manage the flow of inspection to ensure that test priorities are consistent with Manufacturing and Production schedules.
9. Manage and communicate the status of urgent items and develop contingency plans to avoid missing schedule requirements.
10. Resolve problems with instruments, test methods, lab chemicals, standards and samples.
11. Assure that all raw materials, bulks, and finished goods are tested in accordance with customer and engineering requirements.
12. Arrange installation and qualification of new instrumentation.
13. Assist in documenting processes (SOP)
14. Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by leadership.

Skills:

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
2. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical data, drawings, and charts.
3. Ability to use deductive reasoning when addressing complex issues.
4. Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
5. Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, and processes to make improvements or take corrective action.
6. Strong technical understanding and ability.
7. Ability to use various measuring instruments.
8. Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and SAP.

Experience and Education:

1. TQM and 8D root cause analysis experience.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or applicable experience.

Essential Physical Requirements:

1. 20/20 vision required with or without correction.
2. Ability to use hands, stand, and or walk 75% of the workday.
3. Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 50 pounds occasionally.
4. Ability to work in shop environment
