The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and tax compliance functions of
A&B Labs and reports directly to the CFO. This includes the generation of periodic financial reports, maintenance
of an adequate system of accounting records via QuickBooks and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets
designed to mitigate risks, enhance the accuracy of A&B Labs reported financial results and ensuring that
reported results comply with GAAP.
The Assistant Controller will ensure the preparation of accurate financial statements and will:
• See to it that Accounting Team provides the necessary operational support to the organization.
• Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee the operations of the Accounting Group, including the design of an organizational structure
adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
• Oversees the Accounting Team to ensure that:
o Accounts payable pays accounts in a timely manner,
o Accounts Receivable are collected in a prompt manner,
o Periodic bank reconciliations are completed,
o Required debt payments are made on a timely basis,
o The maintenance of an appropriate chart of accounts,
o The maintenance of a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Issue timely, accurate and complete financial statements,
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report,
• Work with the CFO in the production of an annual budget and forecasts,
• Report to the CFO on significant budget variances,
• Provide financial analysis as needed,
• Recommends functions that could be outsource and manages outsourced functions,
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit,
• Monitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenants,
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements and coordinates with the tax
accountants for meet tax filings deadlines.
• Maintains the Accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, a CPA or an MBA will be preferred
• Experience in public accounting preferred
• Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization comfortably.
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) to seven (7) years of accounting experience of which two (2 ) years of experience in a professional service
organization is desired.
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS
Must be computer literate and experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Proficient in the
bookkeeping Quick Books software, Windows environment and use of Internet E-mail.
OTHER SKILLS
• Must be organized
• Must have good written and oral communication skill (English)
• Must manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work will occur in an office environment and may have client site visits. The employee may be required to stand,
walk or move to various locations around the office and visiting facilities outside the office environment. At
the office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
WORK AUTHORIZATION
This position requires proof of United States citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
UNPLANNED ACTIVITIES
This position requires flexibility and adaptability. There will be tasks assigned that are outside of this job
description from time to time.
