Our growth is fueled by individuals who share our passion. Currently, we have an opening for a Director of People and Culture in our Louisville, CO location.

The Director of People and Culture is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department - managing daily employee lifecycle processes and regularly interacting with employees. This position will oversee recruiting, payroll and benefits administration, employee onboarding and offboarding, HR policy implementation, employee relations and ensure overall employment law compliance. This role serves as the key culture voice across the leadership team and company and acts as a champion for our company culture in supporting cross-functional leaders in retaining and developing employees professionally.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee daily HR functions while working closely with executive leadership and management in supporting all employees with personnel needs. Respond to questions on administrative HR procedures and practices and answer HR policy-related questions, providing guidance to managers and employees and escalating as appropriate.
  • Oversee the recruiting process - including job description updates, job posting, resume screening and coordination of interviews. Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, internal transfers, offboarding and the ongoing development of the candidate and employee experience.
  • Oversee benefits administration to include; employee enrollments and benefits changes, and assistance with the annual open enrollment process.
  • Oversee and back up bi-weekly payroll administration, including timecard corrections.
  • Serve as primary contact for employee complaints, coordinate investigations and make recommendations regarding appropriate resolution. Support supervisors and managers in handling conflict and facilitating difficult conversations (i.e., employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.)
  • Oversee company Wellness program - including monthly newsletter and implementation of wellness initiatives.
  • Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory trainings.
  • Provide regular departmental communications to employees as required (i.e., new hires, org changes, job postings).
  • Optimize employee compensation and benefit programs to ensure market competitiveness and reflect our values and the needs of our people.
  • Manage external HR partners (i.e., benefits broker, HRIS vendor, 401(k) provider) to ensure Quicksilver is compliant with all labor-related regulations. Facilitate annual programs such as employee surveys and open enrollment.
  • Handle Workers' Compensation, health and safety compliance, and unemployment claims.
  • Assist in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Maintain personnel files, ensuring compliance with I-9 documentation and records retention.
  • Manage routine HRIS tasks - including maintenance of employee database.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership to keep informed on trends, risks or more serious issues.
  • Proactively solicits feedback from employees at every level of the organization in an effort to develop and maintain a high performing culture.
  • Recommend and implement new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the People & Culture department and services performed.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Manage ad hoc projects of the People & Culture team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources experience covering all areas of the function, including experience in a management role (or higher)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS software
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and best practices including federal/state laws and regulations

Ideal Candidates have the following traits:

  • SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field
  • Nutraceutical or consumer goods manufacturing experience
  • Excellent critical thinker and communicator - communicating proactively and productively in both oral and written exchanges and convince others to pursue actions via clear, informed, and actionable advice.
  • Ability to partner with all levels of the organization and work through others to drive impact - leading or consulting as the situation demands. Able to share feedback with and seek feedback from others constructively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to successfully lead, mentor and coach employees for success.
  • Must be innovative, results-driven, forward-thinking, high-energy, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced/evolving environment while bringing a positive attitude.

Compensation: $95,000 to $115,000 per year
