Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is Hiring a Line Cook - Full-time Near Quarryville, PA

Full-Time Benefitted positionNO Late Nights - A RARE opportunity in the culinary field.

This Full-Time Line Cook position includes benefits and paid time off. This Line Cook works as an essential member of our Residential Living Dining Services Team preparing made to order restaurant quality meals for the Windows on Park dining room.

Weekday hours have a 9am or 10am start with an end of either 5:30pm or 6:30pm.

Weekend responsibility would be completely Day shift from 6:00am - 2:30pm

  • To be successful in this position, you must be on a mission to deliver mind-blowing meals to our residents and guests each and every day. 
  • Be someone who brings the fun to work and keeps their cool when business is booming.
  • Possess hospitality experience and a passion for food, both quality and presentation.

**Compensation range between $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on level of experience**

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Prepare, season and cook made to order food for our Independent Living residents.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements.
  • Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc.
  • Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to prepare the correct amount of each item daily.
  • Present food using proper plating techniques.
  • Assist executive chef and other cooks with prep and special functions.
  • Assist in training of new team members.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment and under fast-paced conditions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, culinary training a PLUS
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospitality environment required
  • Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Time management and attention to detail a MUST.
  • Serv-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certification.
  • Experience training new staff is a PLUS
