Contracts Specialist Job Description
Job Description:
We are seeking a Contracts Specialist for our cleared government contracting company. The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for the development and management of contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders for government and commercial clients. This includes drafting and negotiating contract terms, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and working closely with project teams to ensure successful contract performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review and draft contract and subcontract documents, including terms and conditions, statements of work, and purchase orders
· Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors
· Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies
· Manage the contract administration process, including the tracking of deliverables and performance metrics
· Work closely with project teams to ensure contract performance and address any issues that may arise
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors
· Keep abreast of changes in government regulations and industry trends
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, law, or engineering
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting, with at least 3 years of experience in contracts administration or management, and proposal preparation
· Experience with fixed-price systems delivery contracts
· Experience with all contract types, including fixed-price, T&M, cost reimbursable, GSA schedules, government-wide acquisition contracts, BPAs, and Rapid Response IDIQs
· Strong understanding of government procurement regulations and contract law
· Knowledge of federal government contracting and CPARS
· Knowledge of FAR and agency supplements
· Ability to establish and maintain client relationships with internal and external clients
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
· Experience Contract management software
· Active clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
· Strong organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment
· Ability to work with cross functional teams
