The Accounts Payable Associate will need to perform a full-range of Accounts Payable functions including the processing of invoices, payments and other various accounting transactions accurately and timely. Regular communication and interaction with co-workers and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner is required. 

Requirements

 What You Will Be Doing: 

• Invoice Processing: Review and process a large volume of invoices through our purchase order/vouchering system while maintaining a high level of accuracy and timeliness. 
• Payments: Process weekly payments accurately, including checks, wires, ACH, and credit card payments for International and domestic vendors, employee expenses, and commissions. 
• Problem Solving and Teamwork: Display a positive attitude that promotes teamwork, camaraderie, and problem solving.
• Customer Service: Respond to external and internal inquires using timely, first-rate communication and customer service skills.
• Review and Research: Audit freight bills and analyze Voucher Payable Report, AP Aging, Vendor Statements, and Purchasing Log for unresolved invoice and purchase order matters. 
• Reporting: Print and maintain all accounts payable reports and files. Keep AP procedures up-to-date and accurate. AP related system activity is to be reconciled daily.
• Month-end: Prepare monthly AP reports and reconcile the purchasing pre-paid account.
• Year-end: Participate in the 1099 preparation process.
• Accounting Team Support: Assists AR with new customer credit checks.

Skills:

• Must possess solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Must be proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word and familiar with accounting systems. 
• Must understand accounts payable processes and procedures in a high-volume, team-based work environment.
• Must be organized, work independently and efficiently. 
• Must have a strong customer service orientation as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, be detail oriented, and maintain confidentiality.

Who You Are:

• High School degree with minimum of 2 years working experience in an accounting/bookkeeping environment. Associate’s Degree in accounting or business is desirable. 
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Should be able to operate a 10 key adding machine and be comfortable using basic math.
• Computer literacy a must, knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel desirable, Infor/SyteLine CSI9 ERP experience a plus.
