Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Department: Shipping

Reports To: Shipping Superintendent

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The warehouse supervisor is responsible for managing the shipping team to meet daily production schedules with support from the shipping supervisor. A successful shipping supervisor will be able to communicate across multiple departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Distribute and collect daily shipping goals/orders to team. Monitor team for accuracy.
• Continuously strive to drive, improve, and monitor QAP companywide KPI's: safety (6s), people, quality, cost of production, delivery/Inventory, continuous improvement, finance/cash, and commercial.
• Manage staffing by understanding receiving and warehouse team skill level to assign tasks and satisfy schedules.
• Direct and oversee completion of loads. Manage total shipping procedures including but not limited to product labels, color codes, skid construction and truck logistics.
• Work closely with continuous improvement department to improve safety and efficiency.
• Train, direct, motivate and coach employees to meet shipping goals and minimize error rate.
• Evaluate hourly employee performance. Provide continuous coaching to engage and motivate team.
• Assign appropriate corrective actions when needed to maintain QAP mission and values.
• Remove obstacles by analyzing problem, making recommendations, and reinforcing standards.
• Utilize Microsoft Smart Draw to determine warehouse layouts.
• Safeguard quality and order accuracy throughout the shipping department and promptly address defects/issues.
• Utilize Syspro software to manage, monitor and track inventory.
• Communicate and coordinate completion of backorders between all departments.
• Administer and lead 8D problem solving process.
• Administer and lead standardized work list
• Maintain high level of knowledge related to material codes and production schedules (metal codes/colors/labeling/etc.).
• Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance at QAP facility.
• Reinforce and maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness by utilizing 5s standards.
• Any additional job assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience

Trade School or High school diploma; and/or 3 year to 5 years of management experience.

Language/Reasoning Ability/Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply using whole numbers. Ability to read, write and speak basic English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out reports and follow shipping schedules.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be asked to have a Forklift License to facilitate production. OSHA training strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving forklifts and pallets. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot or cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. We also require steel toed shoes and protective eyewear at all times in the plant.
