The camera software team is looking for talented senior software engineers experienced in development of software for mobile and devices. The camera software team is responsible for delivering the camera drivers, HAL and post processing features for Snapdragon chipsets, providing best in class performance, power and image quality. This role will involve working at all layers of the camera software stack, from Android Camera HAL and/or Windows AVS/KMD/MFT Camera implementation to low level hardware control. Responsibilities will include the design and development of new features, support for new hardware, debugging of issues within the software, optimizing software for performance and power, development of unit tests and working with our partners and OEMs. The successful candidate will be exposed to 3A (auto exposure, auto focus and auto white balance), image signal processors, camera sensors, as well as integration with other technologies including motion sensors, video encoders, DSPs, GPU and display.
Minimum Qualifications:
⢠Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 2 years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 1 year of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.Preferred Qualifications:
â¢Â   Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
⢠  2 years of relevant camera software experience.
â¢Â   2 years experience with camera drivers and HLOS frameworks (Android, Windows, Linux, etc.).
â¢Â   2 years programming (e.g., C, C , Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems knowledge.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
â¢Â   Leverages basic understanding of the camera processing pipeline and detailed knowledge of one or more blocks to help define and design features and implementations; works under minimal supervision.
â¢Â   Debugs simple issues at a system level.
â¢Â   Works to address well-defined customer requirements (internal or external) in functionality, customization, and results; understands impact of software design on customer needs.
â¢Â   Helps define and complete tasks related to feature and framework development and improvement.
â¢Â   Collaborates with team members throughout the design cycle on design, development, and optimization; works with test development team to help define unit tests.
â¢Â   Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions to guide users and/or customers to use or implement software.

Pay range:
$114,500.00 - $171,500.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus). In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
