Position Summary:

Puttshack stands at the intersection of hospitality and entertainment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, leveraging innovative technology and engaging design that creates the ultimate one-of-kind guest experience and best in class restaurant and bar operations.

We are looking for an energetic, motivated, and creative Intermediate Interior Designer. With guidance, this candidate will perform in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the Interior Design process. We work in a collaborative environment with a fast-paced nature. This is a great opportunity to join an in-house Interior Design team for an amazing emerging brand!

With 11 US locations open and 10-12 venues anticipated to open by end of 2024 this role requires a dynamic designer with a track record of executing hospitality design through all phases of a project.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: 

  • Performs tasks according to specific guidelines under general supervision of Senior Designers
  • Leads coordination efforts with Puttshack Consultants, Architectural Consultants, and General Contractors
  • Works closely with internal Puttshack Project Managers to move all aspects of a specific site forward
  • Executes tasks as part of larger assignments
  • Implements design into CAD format (AutoCAD) and presentation materials
  • Assists in day-to-day coordination efforts required to produce a set of Construction Documents and FF&E Specifications; namely the research, communication and documentation required to execute the project effectively
  • Possesses a strong understanding of design principles and theory
  • Interested in all areas of design including interior design, interior architecture, furniture design, det accessorizing, and graphic design
  • Displays strong creative interior design skills including concept development, hand sketching, and selection of colors, materials, finishes and furniture
  • Overall knowledge of the design process, including design documentation, FF&E specifications, color and materials
  • Assist in developing evolving brand standards
  • Successfully contributes to multiple projects with varying responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized, detail oriented and thorough work style demonstrating pride and ownership in the quality of work
  • Proactive problem solver with exemplary analytical skills
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Skilled knowledge of construction documentation
  • Proficient knowledge of specification writing
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
  • Skilled in Sketch Up
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
  • Travel - This position will require approximately 10% travel time
  • This position must pass a post-offer background check

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree from an accredited Interior Design or Architecture program
  • Minimum 4-8 years of experience in Hospitality Interior Design
  • NCIDQ and/or LEED is a plus but not a requirement
  • Skilled knowledge of construction documentation
  • Proficient knowledge of specification writing
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
  • Skilled in Sketch Up
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment- ability to commute to our River North office three times a week.
  • Physical demands- ability to sit for hours at a time.
