What will you do in this job?

In this role, you are responsible to drive revenue and profit for our FlyOver attractions using a rational, disciplined decision-making process while managing risk under current and anticipated market conditions. This highly collaborative position is key to the development and implementation of effective product, price, inventory, and distribution strategies. This position oversees all aspects of inventory management in all guest channels, including online travel agencies (OTAs).

This role requires leadership, strong relationship-building abilities, change management skills, creative thinking, and an analytical mind. It requires an ability to successfully communicate rate and product recommendations to Pursuit Leadership Team, Sales Directors and General Managers who must align on the pricing strategies. To be successful, you will be highly collaborative with your local team and effectively communicate the strategies to the Executive leadership. FlyOvers are one of Pursuits year-round attractions and while they have some seasonal fluctuations, they are watched by the company and our Board all year.

  • Optimize price strategies through definition and management of all consumer direct rates, travel trade rate levels, and other tactics, congruent with demand factors.
  • Play an active role in annual business plans, working along-side marketing and sales to set budgets with PAX/ETP and Revenue by sales channel.
  • Set OTA strategy and manage all OTA partners to maximize visibility and revenue.
  • Prepare for and chair Bi-weekly Revenue meetings with Contact Center, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance.
  • Determine the optimal mix of business and work with DOS and sales team members to encourage strategic selection of business.
  • Accurately prepare Monthly Forecasts (Day by Day by Segment) for each business.
  • Evaluate available Market Share/Data reports to understand trends and opportunities and the market as a whole and ensure targeted pricing and positioning is achieved.
  • Proactively monitor local events and plan for demands on inventory.
  • Ensure standards in all systems are being met and identify opportunities for improvement in call center, website, and walk-up scenarios.
  • Provide pricing for Group Sales-inclusive of Affiliate, Regional and Travel Trade.
  • Be a Revinate (guest surveys) super user, understanding all guest feedback, collaborate to determining research priorities, execution, and communication of results.
  • Knowledgeable of all Pursuit marketing, sales, operations and contact center initiatives.
  • Advance our goal to achieve dynamic pricing through partnership with Digonex.
  • Enforces and follows all Viad and Pursuit policies and regulations, including our ‘Always Honest’ code of conduct.
  • Completes other tasks and projects as needed to support the Pursuit Leadership Teams.
  • Drives our OTA initiative for a full two-way interface between Pursuit and the third party through a relationship with Redeam (attraction channel manager) including inventory, pricing, reservations, content, and pictures.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business pricing role, analysis role, or similar work experience related to driving revenue and business growth required.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PPT, MS Teams) strongly preferred.
  • Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment.
  • Able to draw conclusions through data analysis and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to building positive working relationships.
  • Willingness to work with a geographically dispersed team, virtually and in person.
  • Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • While infrequent, must be flexible to work non-traditional hours/days if there is a critical business need.
