Purple Rock Scissors is Hiring an UX Designer Near Fully Remote / Orlando, FL

PRPL’s UX Designers are artists who solve big problems, create beautiful experiences and put users first. At PRPL, you’ll design a wide variety of digital products, collaborating across disciplines to tackle challenges from conception to launch. A UX designer is responsible for creating interactive designs that enhance a customer's experience with a brand and facilitate an enjoyable experience using various forms of digital and web media. Our UX Designers have a functional understanding of coding and are able to showcase a brand's strengths and personality seamlessly throughout the interface of a product. If you have a strong interactive design portfolio, a positive attitude and an endless desire to explore ideas that push design forward, we want to talk with you!

Reports To:Design Director 

Responsibilities 

  • Work in collaborative teams to design unique solutions for a wide variety of digital products
  • Develop intimate knowledge of information design, including semantic information for the web, and user interface issues such as browser / platform constraints and capabilities
  • Create initial concepts, wireframes, functional design solutions, and mood boards
  • Develop interactive prototypes of new websites, products, and application experiences
  • Refine existing designs to enhance and optimize the experience
  • Scope projects and participate in project definition phases
  • Validate your decisions and push for the best user experience
  • Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department
  • Stay current with digital and industry trends

Qualifications

  • A self-motivated, conceptual thinker who is open to feedback and eager to collaborate
  • 5 years of experience in digital design
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates strong, varied interactive work
  • Expert knowledge of design software and workflows, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Invision
  • Firm understanding of the cross-platform responsive patterns, usability heuristics, web technologies, and accessibility
  • Strong grasp of user experience design, information architecture, and prototyping 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with or without supervision
  • Functional knowledge of Apple products including but not limited to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, as well as Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Can demonstrate new workflows, efficiencies, and strategies for collaboration
  • Interaction design experience and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Functional knowledge of basic front-end development(HTML, CSS, and Javascript)
  • Familiarity with content management and eCommerce solutions such as WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine, and Magento
  • Experience Creating storyboards for outlining video, animation, and/or motion graphics
