We are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer. This role will be part of establishing a “software product” organization responsible for:

• The infrastructure required to support Cloud operating model APIs and API gateways
• The delivery of the ecommerce and customer lifecycle management of Cloud operating model
• Any custom built product required by the Applications organization to complement the third party products that constitute the basis of our tool ecosystem

The Senior User Experience Designer will define and drive features and software capabilities for Pure’s transition to a platform company. This role will be responsible for defining our UX vision, design strategy, and processes across software product lines, building strong partnerships with stakeholders from product management, engineering and other departments. This person will play a key role in transforming our product management, design and delivery into a Lean, rapidly iterative, customer-centric machine.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Define UX strategy & vision for our software suites.
• Create and direct user research to define users and UX success criteria, and user testing to validate achievement of those criteria.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering and QA to ensure that teams produce highly usable/valuable/feasible products aligned with user needs and perceptions.
• Promote the value of our UX team as problem framers and strategic thinkers.
• Passionately advocate for the end user to ensure that product design and content strategy are aligned to user needs and expectations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors/Human Computer Interaction or related field;
• 7 years’ experience successfully applying design approaches to software product development, preferably in Agile SaaS environments
• Expertise in both interaction design and user research and testing, perform generative research to gain new insights and perform evaluative research to validate design workflow.
• Deep understanding of UX best practices for web-based and mobile applications
• Demonstrated ability to bridge silos and work effectively across disciplines, locations, and levels
• Ability to craft and communicate compelling vision and story to multiple audiences and cross-functional stakeholders
• Must be detail oriented with strong organization and process skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under time constraints
• Provide constructive design critique to help other designers get to that “Ah-ha!” moment.
• Ability to travel as needed

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Lean UX principles
• Experience with UI/UX localization strategies to serve worldwide markets
• Experience with Google Analytics and other usability and analytical software tools
• Experience with Design for Disability / WCAG / Section 508 requirements
• Bonus for having a background in visual design and/or working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and prototype tools such as Protopie, Framer X, or Principle. (We currently use Figma and Protopie)
