Hours: M-F 8am to 5pm Rotating Evening and Weekend Call JOB SUMMARY: Investigates, analyzes, and resolves computer software, hardware, telecommunications, and networking problems. Installs computers, software, telecom, and peripherals. Works effectively with users to find answers to questions relating to hardware, software and telecom issues. Tutor and coach users with various technologies. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent. A college-level education in Management Information Systems, Information Systems Technology, or a related field is desirable. Certifications such as VMWare Certified Technical Associate, Citrix Certified Associate, MSCA Windows Server 2016, and/or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals is desirable. Experience: Four to six years of previous work experience with Microsoft Server administration, Cisco networking, VMWare environment, Citrix Netscaler/Storefront/Apps and Desktop environment, and/or Avaya IP Office is desired. Advanced personal computer skills, including installation and maintenance of the hardware, peripheral devices, telecom, and software. Experience with MS Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of local area networks and wide area networks. License/Registration: None required. Current valid driver’s license is beneficial. Population Served: N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Planning and Prioritizing Effective time management. Contribute to the development of strategic objectives for Information Systems. Information Gathering Actively seeks out additional technical, organizational, and professional resources. Participate in online training courses that provide information regarding components of the information system at Pullman Regional Hospital. Decision-Making Work in conjunction with IT Team members and/or end users to brainstorm, analyze, and develop solutions to technical or process issues. Communication Support-oriented personality and proven client relations skills. Analytical, detail-oriented, effective communicator. Is able to teach others and effectively train users. Technical Proficiency Assist to support the various EMR platforms and their various components. Assist to support Windows server, electronic messaging, and other components. Demonstrate advanced abilities for troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues. Assist to support Cisco network and supporting infrastructure. Assist to support telecommunications and related components. Teamwork Work with Information Technology Team and personnel from other departments to develop, implement, maintain, and utilize new and existing technologies. Act as a technical consultant and resource to other departments as required. Participate in the on-call rotation. Quality Strive to provide quality customer service and actively solicits feedback from others to ensure a continued high level of performance. Outcomes Review project list with the Information Technology Team on a daily basis to assure satisfaction and completeness for all projects. Personal Education Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and evolve with the dynamic world of hospital information systems, personal computers, software, telecommunications, networks, and the evolution of the position. Participate in at least 10 hours of technical training per year. Work Effectiveness Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot PC hardware, software, telecommunications, networking, and peripherals. Develop, implement, and maintain a database of hardware and software components of the Pullman Regional Hospital Information System. Reliability Demonstrate effective organizational skills and the ability to be self-motivated. Take accountability for Information Systems projects in which he/she participates. Education of Others Allow availability for personnel to receive training on different aspects of the information systems that have been implemented. Creating a Safe Work Environment Identify safety concerns and actively seeks to resolve these issues. Stewardship Assume the willingness to be accountable for the well-being of the larger organization by operating in service, rather than in control, of those around us. Ethical Conduct Consistently communicates and collaborates with colleagues about decisions which involve legal and ethical issues. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs other non-essential functions as requested. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting: 75%. Standing/Walking: 25%. Occasional lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasional pushing/pulling to move supplies and equipment. Occasional climbing of stairs to reach other levels of the building. Occasional bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching to move and work on equipment and supplies. Occasional reaching/handling to complete paperwork, use computer and answer phone. Frequent talking/hearing/seeing to interact with staff and customers and to complete job duties. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Location: Inside. Occasional exposure to noise to cause distraction from computer equipment. Minimal risk of injury due to proximity of moving parts on computers, printers, peripherals. Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials. Occasional exposure to heat and cold from going outdoors between hospital and other network locations.
