Your day as a Cost Estimator II
As an Estimator at PTI Technologies, you will be responsible for interpreting requirements based on engineering drawings, data forms, and sketches to prepare accurate cost estimates for complex manufacturing projects in the aerospace industry. You will work closely with various departments, such as Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Purchasing, to ensure detailed design clarification and efficient decision-making processes. Your role will involve generating bills of material, internal quote requests, and manufacturing engineering forms while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing methods and material costs.

What you need to be successful
To excel as an Estimator at PTI Technologies, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university. Additionally, three to five years of relevant experience, including at least one to two years in a manufacturing setting, are essential. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, bill of materials, and cost accounting reports is crucial for this role.
The ability to utilize software and tools effectively to generate accurate cost estimates, such as Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, is required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are indispensable. A solid understanding of manufacturing methods, material costs, and estimating techniques is key to success in this challenging yet rewarding aerospace manufacturing environment based in Oxnard, California.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
