Position: Warehouse Associate
Shift: 1st & 2nd
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor /Manager
Employment Status: Full Time
Job Classification: Hourly - Non - Exempt
Job Summary:
The warehouse worker is responsible for daily tasks such as restocking shelves, accepting incoming orders, processing and packing orders, counting inventory and ensuring orders are shipped in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collecting merchandise from the distribution center and safely transporting materials to the shipping bay using hand jacks, power jacks, Hilo, forklifts, etc.
- Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return.
- Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.
- Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
- Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
- Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
- Assisting with training of new colleagues to carry out tasks effectively.
- Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.
- Knowledge of warehouse machinery.
- Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and safely.
- High School Diploma and/ or a combination of work experience
- Basic math understanding
- Prior experience working in a warehouse.
- The job involves walking and working on slippery surfaces. Finger dexterity is needed. Position in this classification bend, stand, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work.
- Extended hours standing. Using computers, printers, fax machines and other office equipment. Lifting heavy objects from shelves or out of trucks.
