Minimum Requirements

• 4 years/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Prefer CPA and/or MBA.
• Must possess a fundamental understanding of the standard concepts, practices and procedures of accounting/bookkeeping.
• Two (2) years in an accounting or financial role; healthcare-related preferred.
• Proficiency with a computerized accounting system.

Position Summary

The Assistant Controller monitors department procedures and recommends improvements, consults with the senior management team, participates in establishing and implementing major goals and objectives, and serves as a resource in all aspects of finance and accounting. The Assistant Controller has a passion and aptitude for accounting with a strong desire to provide valid and reliable information.

Position Responsibilities

• Support most aspects of accounting management.
• Establish and maintain internal controls.
• Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
• Manage all aspects of the general ledger (journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly closing).
• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts.
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit and serve as a liaison to external auditors.
• Help in development of reports for management.
• Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
• Oversee home office accounting department.
• Follows & communicates company policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
