Equipment Mechanic 
Baytown, TX

As we continue to grow this new business line, PSC is a partner of the Plastics Industry Association’s Operation Clean Sweep® program. We are now providing sustainability and recycling programs to help plastic resin manufacturers protect the environment by reducing and eliminating pellet, flake and powder loss.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (Must be available for flexible hours with periodic weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel as operational needs require.)
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, trailers, and custom packaging equipment.
  • Travels to various customer field locations throughout the area in response to service calls and repair requests
  • Ensures compliance by maintaining vehicles and trailers to DOT standards.
  • Works with operations to coordinate repairs on vehicles, trailers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoots warehouse equipment to identify problems and help determine what repairs are needed
  • Performs necessary maintenance on crew trucks, tractors, van trailers, grain trailers, vacuum trucks, and roll off trucks.
  • Create and maintain vehicle and equipment records for DOT compliance.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Experience working on diesel engines / trucks
  • Welding experience
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot mechanical systems
  • Knowledge / understanding of DOT regulations.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures a plus.

Physical Requirements:
You must be able to:
  • Speak, write, read fluent English. Hear and have good vision.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
  • Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
  • Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
  • Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
  • Carry 20 pounds while walking
  • Walk 3-10 miles per day
  • Stand 4-8 hours per day
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Support oneself on a ladder with two feet and one arm extended for up to one minute on each arm
  • Extend arms through normal range of motion, in both a horizontal and vertical plane, while standing and squatting.
