Village Woods-Retirement and Assisted Living community in Crete, is seeking 2 Part-Time Life Enrichment Assistants. We are seeking candidates who share our vision & commitment for enhancing the lives of our clients.

Hours: Tuesday through Friday 11AM-8PM, Saturday 9AM-4PM, rotating holidays.

This self-motivated candidate will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the client's assessment, and as directed by the Life Enrichment Director.

Position requires a strong team-player with writing skills, basic computer skills, interpersonal skills, and decision-making skills. Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with the elderly individuals, other personnel, family members, and visitors. Candidate must have the ability to plan and implement scheduled activity programs. Candidate must be patient, enthusiastic, and have a cheerful disposition. Candidate must be comfortable learning how to drive a 15-passenger bus for resident outings. Previous experience as an activity aide and knowledge of dementia specific care within an assisted living/independent living or skilled nursing community is desired. Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.

Requirements

• General computer and social media knowledge and musical capability a plus.
• Memory Care experiences is a plus.
• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Previous experience desired.
• On-the-job training provided.
