The ideal candidate is a data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. You will be responsible for building and optimizing our data as well as building automated processes for production jobs.

You will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives; you will need to be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.

Responsibilities

• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies.
• Working with stakeholders including Finance, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues.
• Data modeling supporting realtime & batch pipelines, integrating monitoring and alerting.
• Crafting and updating ETL specifications and supporting documentation
• Ensure consistency between various platform, operational, and analytic data sources to enable faster and more efficient detection and resolution of issues
• This role will partner closely with teams to understand the data-needs of the team and ensure that the teams are able to answer hard questions with real data.
• A successful individual should be highly collaborative and organized with a strong inquisitive mindset. You should be capable of prioritizing multiple deliverables and effectively communicate progress and blockers.

About You

Essential Skills

• Bachelors in Computer Science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or other quantitative fields or relevant experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Proven experience in working in Python, bash/shell scripting, RDBMS, EDW and NoSQL environments
• Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data.
• Knowledge of software best practices across the development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations

Desired Skills

• Working knowledge in Kafka or other streaming platforms
• Working knowledge in Apache Airflow or Pentaho
• Experience in mySQL, Snowflake, Cassandra

What We Offer

This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The salary range for this position for Colorado only starts at $110,000/yr. 

Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
