CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist position at Prototek is a key role within our organization. We are seeking energetic, imaginative and creative individuals with robust skills in manufacturing, machining, hand tools and production processes accompanied by a genuine passion to learn. Your skills will be utilized within a fast growing and innovative shop environment. This position reports directly to the CNC Manager and is a highly valued role driving our continued success. Responsibilities include:

  • Read and interpret complicated blueprints.
  • Prior experience with Mazak control helpful.
  • Responsible for setting up complex set ups, machining parts and editing programs at the machine
  • Individual would be responsible to help set up, prove out jobs and run small production runs
  • Operates CNC machinery to perform machining operations on plastic pieces to specific specifications
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards, housekeeping, process integrity,
  • monitoring of calibration of all measuring equipment used and monitoring machinery and tools to ensure safe correct and optimum performance
  • Install preset jobs and setup tooling, fixturing and machinery
  • Verify the paperwork, print number, revision levels, operation sequence, materials, program and check sheet are all correct and consistent
  • Run jobs in an efficient, organized and safe manner while following the work instructions on the print and/or work order sequence
  • Maintain the workflow and perform quality audits as required to ensure that the product meets or exceeds the customer specifications
  • Deburr parts following the work instructions on the work order sequence or on the print
  • Change worn or broken tooling using appropriate procedures
