NMCAL is on the lookout for compassionate Certified Family Peer Support Workers (CFPSW) with a focus on individuals who have experience in foster or support parenting. This specialized role is key to our mission of providing targeted, empathetic support via phone and text to families navigating the complexities of the child-serving systems in New Mexico.

As a CFPSW at NMCAL, you will be at the forefront of offering hope and guidance to families. With your background in foster or support parenting, coupled with your certification, you'll create empowering connections with parents and primary caregivers seeking understanding and support. Your lived experience and professional training equip you to offer recovery and support services, making a profound impact on the families you assist.

Our Peer Support Specialists work closely with one another and the Warmline Supervisors in a unique, structured environment; taking part in ongoing meetings, trainings and team building activities. You will be given opportunities to share your knowledge and experience with a strong team of truly caring peers. Alongside these duties, you will handle confidential information professionally, with an understanding of the policies and procedures that guide ProtoCall Services. In order to serve the community at the highest level, a continued commitment to your own recovery is essential for this role. The Warmline operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Full time and Part time positions available.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• You must either be a Certified Family Peer Support Worker (CFPSW) or be CFPSW eligible.
• **Certified Peer Support Workers (CPSW) who have relevant lived experience as a foster or support parent may also be considered.**
• Knowing how to navigate child-serving systems and having experience advocating for mental health or developmental needs is crucial.
• We value familiarity with child and family support principles and a genuine approach to using your lived experience to assist others.
• If you have been involved in peer support, guided self-help groups, or have worked directly with families facing behavioral health challenges, that would be ideal.
• We need people who are good at both taking the lead and working within a team, who are comfortable with technology, can communicate clearly and effectively, and are reliable and organized.
• Being available for evening and weekend shifts is a must for this role.
