SYSTEMS ENGINEER – Langley AFB AOC/OSC – Hampton, VA Datum Software, Inc. Government Solutions (GS) is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer candidate to support the U.S. Air Force (USAF) at Langley AFB – Air Operations Center (AOC/OSC) in Hampton, VA. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Engineer technical solutions. · Build List of Materials/Rough Order of Magnitude. · Track project milestones. · Chair project meetings. · Establish/validate requirements. · Author project documentation IAW industry such as CMMI. · Provide data center and AOC subject matter expertise. · Engineer AOC/data center solutions for a wide variety of issues including multi-tenancy, cloud services, expansion, and security. · Provide troubleshooting assistance. · Provide mentoring and AOC system/data center training, as requested. · Represent 700 ASUS AOC Weapon System, when required by the Government, at meetings regarding configuration management. Participate in AOC planning activities to ensure standardization. · Evaluate mission requirements and engineer technical solutions to meet them. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in systems engineering, engineering, or a mathematics-intensive discipline. A master's degree within the same fields of study is highly desired, but not required. · Five (5) years of intensive and progressive experience in systems engineering and implementation / integration of complex systems. Additionally: 4.7.2.2.1 Three (3) years of technical experience within an operational AOC environment within the last five (5) years. - OR – · Three (3) years of data center operations experience within the last seven (7) years and two (2) years of experience in an AOC within the last fifteen (15) years. · One (1) year of experience with computer network defense. · Familiarity with system virtualization within the Flexpod Architecture and understanding of DoD system certification, accreditation, and PKI. · Technical and operational knowledge and expertise to execute the tasks/subtasks in this work statement is required. · At contract start, contractor shall possess certification(s) in accordance with DoD Manual 8570.01-M IAM LVL II (or its replacement). · 4.7.2.7 At contract start, contractor shall possess at least one CCNP, VCP-DCV, or CCNA Cloud certification. A CCNP Data Center certification is highly desired, but not required. · Physical Requirement: Work may involve sitting for extended periods. May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of manufacturing and military sites or facilities where necessary. · Other Essential Functions: o Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. o Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: · CLEARANCE LEVEL: Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance prior to beginning work. It is highly preferred if a candidate already has a Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility, but we are able to process the clearance upgrade once the successful candidate has begun in the role. · Contractor must be able and willing to work on-site at Langley AFB. · Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.), and/or other industry-specific equipment. · Attendance: Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule and Performance Work Statement (PWS) contract is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements, when required. Datum Software Inc.
