Job Description: Exercise Physiologist at Project Walk Boston
Project Walk Boston is a leading provider of activity-based therapy for individuals with neurological conditions such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, and others. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Exercise Physiologist to join our team and contribute to the well-being and rehabilitation of our clients.
As an Exercise Physiologist at Project Walk Boston, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing customized exercise programs tailored to the specific needs and goals of our clients. Your primary objective will be to help individuals maximize their physical potential and improve their overall quality of life through targeted exercise interventions.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical capabilities, including strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and functional movement.
2. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized exercise plans that align with clients' goals and abilities.
3. Provide hands-on guidance and instruction to clients during exercise sessions, ensuring proper technique and safety.
4. Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting exercise programs as necessary to optimize outcomes.
5. Employ creative and innovative approaches to engage clients and enhance their motivation throughout the rehabilitation process.
6. Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in the field of exercise physiology, incorporating evidence-based practices into client treatment plans.
7. Educate clients and their families on the benefits of exercise and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
10. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of therapy programs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
3. Experience working with individuals with neurological conditions is (not required) .
4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team.
5. Outgoing personality with a passion for helping others and a genuine interest in the field of neurorehabilitation.
6. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative exercise interventions tailored to individual client needs.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
8. Current knowledge of exercise equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
9. Willingness to collaborate with other team members and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
