Recruiting for: Project Engineer
Position Description:
The Project Engineer is responsible for all facets of construction contract administration and ensures the project is built to meet the requirements of engineered plans, specifications, permits, and funding sources. Typical duties include: interpreting plans and specifications, issuing formal correspondence and directives/change orders, preparing weekly reports, tracking pay item quantities, maintaining as-builts, coordinating with the contractor, inspecting the contractor’s work for conformance, and interacting with the public. Depending on the project size, the Project Engineer may also be responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing the work of other professionals. Project Engineers work without direct oversight for extended periods and must be comfortable working on remote project sites that may require travel by boat, aircraft, or off-road vehicle. Long hours in stressful environments are sometimes required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least five seasons of experience in construction inspection, project management, construction management, or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Provide three professional or personal references.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience working on airport, highway, bridge, and/or marine projects.
• Experience working for or on behalf of state and federal government agencies.
• AK-CESCL or equivalent erosion and sediment control certification/experience.
• WAQTC or equivalent materials sampling and testing certification/experience.
• Nuclear density gauge certification and experience.
• Experience with CPM Scheduling and project management software.
• Experience with AASHTOWare

Compensation:

• Hourly wage DOE, overtime-eligible
• 401k Retirement program

• Lodging, per diem, travel reimbursement for work assignments outside of the home city
• Eligible for annual performance bonus
