Greater Omaha Express is Hiring a Maintenance Manager Progressive Protein Near Omaha, NE

Position Type: Full time

Department: Maintenance

Summary: We are seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager. This position will be in our Progressive Protein Division which is a rendering facility. In this role, You will report to the General Manager. You will be responsible for the maintenance needs of the whole plant. You will direct, plan, control, and monitor the maintenance department's overall operation to ensure the equipment's continued ability to service our customers while maintaining high standards in quality, food safety, and safety and meeting the department's budget.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

* Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the rendering plant.

* Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize efficiency.

* Manage and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion.

* Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.

* Coordinate with production managers to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.

* Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

* Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance efficiency and reliability.

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.

* Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

* Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

* Manage maintenance budgets and expenditures, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.

* Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to rendering plant maintenance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Eight years Manufacturing Management, Engineering, Business or related field and five years of experience in Maintenance in a manufacturing plant required. Feed or rendering manufacturing preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment is required. Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

* Solid electrical and mechanical aptitude

* Knows local, state, and federal electric codes.

* I am certified for PLC programming, e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent preferred.

* Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives, and all types of A.C. and D.C. electrical and mechanical equipment.

* Able to read and make proper installations of complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.

* Experience installing and repairing electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.

* Able to disassemble, repair and reassemble gearboxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives, and all mechanical processing equipment related to electrical troubleshooting

* Experience troubleshooting and repairing boiler and dryer combustion and safety devices.

* Possesses working knowledge of hydraulic, compressed air systems and be able to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems

* Experience Installing and repairing pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.

* Possess working knowledge of the following equipment: MIG/TIG/ARC welding equipment.

* -Gas & Plasma cutting equipment

* -Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, etc.

* Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

* The work environment is a combination of corporate and manufacturing. While performing this job's duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and humid conditions. The employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold temperature, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Typical Work Schedule: The schedule for this position is typically Mon - Fri. Weekend work is required as scheduled. Saturdays generally are scheduled.
