We are currently hiring a senior-level Front-End Software Engineer reporting directly to the Director of Software Engineering. This position will play a pivotal role in growing our company and culture to ensure our mission is achieved! We are adding the latest and greatest technologies to our development stack to facilitate the development of state-of-the-art, well-architected, easy-to-maintain codebases.

This role is a work from home position (pants optional) and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in one of our corporate locations in Utah or Arizona.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

• Play a critical lead role in the architectural design and decision making for our applications; Progressive empowers our engineers to run with ideas
• Leverage the latest technology and tools to deliver scalable, maintainable code
• Operate in a hybrid environment, including on-prem and multi-cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Collaborate and participate in developing solutions together in cross-discipline teams
• Actively participate in code reviews, leveraging code reviews to enforce best practices and software craftsmanship
• Hands on mentoring as you grow as a leader and given opportunities to lead teams, projects, and product engineering
• Every engineer plays a part in the development and evolution of our technology roadmap, and we get to try out a lot of new and exciting emerging technologies as well as contribute to product evaluations as we select new software and tools to deploy in our environments
• Demonstrate a high-sense of ownership and accountability for work produced
• Ability to contribute to team success, as well as your own individual success

YOU’LL BRING

• 4 years of professional experience with modern JavaScript and Typescript
• 4 years of professional experience with HTML5 and CSS3
• 4 years of professional experience with CSS style tools, such as Sass/SCSS, Styled Components, etc.
• 4 years of experience writing frontend unit tests with tooling such as Jest
• A desire to grow as a leader and tech lead
• Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills
• A passion for enriching the day-to-day developer experience
• Enterprise experience with multiple modern, component-based JavaScript tools, frameworks, libraries, and design patterns (e.g. Angular, React, Vue, Svelte, Stencil, etc.)
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
• A desire to push the boundaries of UI development
• Experience collaborating with UX designers
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling, such as Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI, and/or Octopus
• A desire to work cross-team, cross-stack
• Willingness to contribute to backend development as needed (.NET and/or Node)
• API integration expertise
