We are currently hiring a Software Engineering Manager to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved!

This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in one of our corporate locations in Utah or Arizona.

YOU ARE: An excited and engaged professional that is looking forward to a career in Technology! The Software Engineering Manager role is accountable for the design, engineering, execution, support, maintenance, and performance of all software engineering initiatives on projects assigned to your group. You will lead engineering teams on a day-to-day basis, participate in hands-on coding, and interact with merchant and vendor partners. We operate in a hybrid environment, including on-prem, public cloud (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), and SaaS/PaaS partners. The Software Engineering Manager will partner and work closely with Product leaders to ensure alignment with Company, Product and Technology OKRs. As a Manager, you are accountable for the consistency in quality, overall performance, engineering soundness, security, execution of sprints, support, and maintenance of all software engineering initiatives and projects. Software Managers participate in scrum ceremonies, project design discussions, business discussions, code reviews, and even the hands-on creation or modification of software. Above all, this position is a leadership role that will directly lead software engineering teams and collaborate with leaders from other teams (e.g., Product Management, Security, Infrastructure, Accounting and Operations), to make engineering decisions, work through issues, and set strategy. Software engineering teams consist of Business Analysts, Delivery Managers, Software Engineers, QA Analysts, Principals, Product and Engineering Managers.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:  

• Foster the development and maintenance of common engineering approaches consistent with organizational standards and industry best practices
• Establish and maintain a balanced iteration cadence with a professional level of quality across all sprints
• Ensure that software engineering team members have the resources necessary to be productive and effective
• Understand cloud product development, managed cloud services, and able to provide technical and strategic feedback on improvements to the cloud product strategy total cost of ownership
• Use “Voice of the Customer” contributions from Product and Sales teams to continually improve solution design quality
• Work with product owners to apply the overall business strategy and priority to the software engineering backlog, working with business partners and software engineering team leaders to assist in sprint planning
• Continually improve cloud deployment practices to enable shorter release cycles
• Ensure that incident and change management, security, and engineering policies, standards, and procedures are followed
• Set and manage team and individual goals as required
• Maintain the integrity and efficiency of software engineering processes
• Prepare and conduct performance reviews
• All duties required related to hiring, coaching and separation of team members
• Ensure laws, company policies, practices and procedures are followed by team members
• All other duties as required

YOU’LL BRING:

• 10 years of experience in hands-on software development or engineering
• 5 years of experience with Software Engineering leadership
• 5 years of experience in leading problem resolution, issue remediation, and IT deployments
• 5 years of experience performing performance reviews
• 5 years working in a cloud-first environment, including experience with AWS, Azure, GCP or similar Finish
• 5 years of experience in modern software practices like agile or scrum
• Experience integrating SaaS solutions into product pipelines
• Experience with cloud-based API management
• Demonstrated solid understanding of scalable technology architectures
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management & DevOps tools (Atlassian, Git, JIRA, Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, Octopus, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent documented experience is required

• Experience leading large projects
• Relationship management skills to build cross functional partnerships
• A self-starter mindset to proactively take ownership and execute work without daily oversight
