Professional Security Consultants is Hiring a Security Officer (Overnight) Near Wellington, FL

Professional Security Consultants (PSC) is currently interviewing to fill open full-time and part-time security officer positions, at Mall at Wellington Green, located in Wellington, FL. Positions available for D Licensed Security Officers. Position requires availability for multiple shifts during the week, including weekends. Must have a clean Florida Driver License, DMV report will be required as a condition of employment.

Currently we are seeking a Full-time and Part-time Security Officer at the Mall at Wellington Green. We are looking for a competent Security Officer to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior. A security officer must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free.

JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, Security Officers patrol assigned areas to ensure protection of clients, visitors, property and equipment. Responsibilities include:

· Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence

· Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property

· Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the property

· Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.

· Secure all exits and doors after end of operations

· Investigate for suspicious activity or possessions

· Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation

· Provide assistance to people in need

· Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities

· Prepares routine, standardized reports.

· Patrols assigned area on foot, on bicycle, or in motor vehicle, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security

· Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required.

· Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious person and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and detain violators, as required, until police arrive.

· Performs periodic checks of emergency call boxes and/or street lights to ensure proper functioning; reports all malfunctioning as required.

· Officers must successfully complete a comprehensive training program to prove they have the ability to perform all mall security duties, and follow company policies and client instructions.

· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

JOB SKILLS

· Provide Superior Customer Service; A “People Person”, enthusiastic and friendly

· Proven experience as a security officer

· Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety

· Familiarity with report writing

· Excellent surveillance and observation skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.

· Ability to walk and climb stairs.

· Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and night time conditions.

· Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.

· Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.

· Ability to maintain accurate records.

· Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.

· Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid (Training Provided if needed)

· Basic knowledge of computers.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum of 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Must have or able to obtain a valid state security officer license.

· Law enforcement, military or previous security experience preferred.

· A professional demeanor and appearance along with the physical ability to perform essential functions of the position including standing and walking for long periods of time and lifting.

· Must pass a drug screen and background check.

· Possess a valid state Driver's License (preferably with a clean driving record).

· Effective communicator (verbal and written); must write accurate & grammatically correct reports

· Employment history of responsibility and trustworthiness
