Professional Plastics is Hiring a Warehouse Manager Near Angola, NY

Summary: Responsible for meeting all established safety, quality and productivity throughout the warehouse operations. Operates with the lowest possible overhead cost and provides overall support and direction to supporting staff. Communicates with customers, sales department and Management as needed to achieve a goal of 100% completion of all daily shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.

  1. Interviews, hires, and trains employees
  2. Plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performances; rewards and disciplines employees
  3. Performs effective training and utilization on operational personnel through continuous education, increased exposure and increased expectations
  4. Ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
  5. Manages adherence to production and quality control standards, budget constraints and cost controls
  6. Monitors levels of production, shipments and labor performance, takes action to correct unfavorable deviations in order to improve favorable trends
  7. Evaluates overall workflow, equipment and processes to ensure resources and manpower are allocated accordingly throughout the warehouse operation and maintain accountability and performance expectations of assigned personnel
  8. Enacts contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during problems, disasters, etc.
  9. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
  10. Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action
  11. Monitors shipping methods to assure material is well packaged for transport

Sales/Customer/Management Support: Maintain a strong customer focus. Respond to rush orders, order inquires and problem resolution. Reasonable response times to inquiries i.e.: email, voicemail and verbal requests.

Safety/Facility Maintenance: Insure facility and equipment is maintained to achieve production requirements and provide a safe and clean work environment. Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly; Wears job appropriate personal protective equipment.

Quality/Inventory: Monitor product and process quality through RMA's, scrap and rejects. Take action to contain, correct, improve and solve quality concerns at the root level. Provide support for Inventory Cycle Counting and discrepancy resolution; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.

Productivity/Efficiency: Continuously evaluate overall workflow, equipment and processes to ensure resources and manpower are allocated accordingly throughout the warehouse operation. Monitor levels of production, shipments and labor performance. Take action to correct unfavorable deviations in order to improve favorable trends. Effective training and utilization on operational personnel through continuous education, increased exposure and increased expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises all employees in the warehouse and fabrication department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages and leads teams.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Five years of Operational Management experience preferred. General Knowledge of Human Resources, OSHA and Hazmat. Strong knowledge of distribution, production or manufacturing techniques.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Able to use and read basic measuring devices (measuring tape, calipers, etc.)

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; ERP software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Licensing/Certificates: Must be forklift certified.

Employee will be required to become forklift certified, which includes driving and upper body twisting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet, hot and/or humid conditions moving mechanical parts. Certain areas of the work environment may have elevated noise levels and require hearing protection.
