Manufacturing Engineer I

Waterloo, Iowa - Full Time

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Waterloo, Iowa. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work for a projector process. Operate in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fullment process. At this level, projects are of limited scope and responsibility; work plans and decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers. May assign coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel and contractors.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

  • Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations.
  • Investigate, gather, and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
  • Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
  • Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.
  • Develop and implement plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System.
  • Design operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
  • Participate in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity, and
  • Implement new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Modify existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans.

Requirements:

  • Technology/Engineering degree.
  • Ability to be comfortable in a shop floor environment.
  • Ability to work hours of first shift.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1 or more year of production or manufacturing experience.
