Design Engineer

Hesston, KS or Beloit, KS or Wichita, KS

Productive Resources (www.pr-engservices.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility.

This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

  • Design and/or model parts and assemblies and create drawings of medium to high complexity, by applying established drafting standards and practices to information contained in layouts, marked drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Apply proper dimensioning and tolerance principles to define allowable variation of parts and assemblies of medium to high complexity based upon the designer/s and/or engineer's functional specifications.
  • Assist designer and/or engineers in the preparation of layouts and/or geometry to be used for the creation of detail and assembly drawings.
  • Submit and retrieve the data files as required.
  • Assist in the direction and coordination in the manufacturing or building of prototype products or systems.
  • Perform liaison services during fabrication, construction and installation as required and may assist in the subsequent troubleshooting.
  • Draw preliminarily sketches and select standard items to incorporate into a design.
  • Write engineering change orders (CCNs) and shop work orders.
  • Examples of Complex Modeling & Drafting/Design tasks are: Castings - (housings, teeth, pedals, valves, counterweights), Sheet metal - (grill housings, hoods, fenders), Molded - (fenders, consoles, floor mats, headliners, tanks, reservoirs), Assemblies - (buckets, frames, functional group assembly into vehicles, Scan data - (modeling parts or assemblies from measured point data)

Requirements:

  • Minimal industry background.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or something related.
  • Creo experience
