What are the responsibilities and job description for the Proposal Manager position at Procore Technologies?
Our team is in search of a Senior Proposal Manager to play an integral role in business development efforts through the completion of RFIs/RFPs/RFQ responses for the Public Sector (State, Local, Higher Education) construction market. The candidate will be responsible for managing complex Requests for Proposal and developing strategically positioned proposals to present Procore’s solutions in a manner that differentiates us from the competition and clearly articulates our value proposition.
As a Senior Proposal Manager, you will be expected to work directly and effectively with cross-functional teams, including Competitive Intelligence, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Sales, to respond to RFPs and generate winning proposals on behalf of Procore. This role requires the individual to deliver compelling, accurate, strategically positioned, responsive, and quality proposals that articulate Procore’s value proposition and key differentiators and, most importantly, that are responsive to complex Public Sector RFP requirements. The candidate will be expected to handle a high volume of requests simultaneously and productively.
This key position will report to the Senior Manager, RFP Team, a group within Sales Acceleration. The role can be based out of one of our US offices or remotely. We’re looking for candidates who are able to join our team immediately!
What you’ll do:
- Champion the RFP response process for assigned public sector/government market (domestic and international) pursuits
- Facilitate process meetings, coordination of response team, RFP requirement compliance, completion of required forms, response documentation production, and shipping/submittal
- Develop RFP project-specific response outlines, process schedules, work plans, task lists, and milestones to achieve 100% compliance with requirements and an on-time submission rate
- Coordinate activities of other RFP Team members and key process stakeholders (sales, legal, pricing, etc.) to ensure adherence to process schedules and completion of work plans and tasks
- Manage multiple RFx (2-3) projects simultaneously with a high degree of efficiency
- Use clear and concise messaging to showcase Procore’s client benefits and competitive differentiation of the company’s strategies for RFx content
- Create and design proposal response templates, maintaining consistent product and company messaging and branding
- Manage production of final RFP responses/proposals, including formatting, quality, company branding compliance, technical editing, RFx responsiveness, production, and submission
- Cultivate critical relationships across the organization, including Sales, Solution Engineers, Finance, Legal, Product, Corporate, and Marketing; partner with Sales and other internal departments to develop proposal response strategies
- Provide updated product language/responses and data to the content management database administrators
- Stay up-to-date with current market and industry trends to develop content and offer suggestions for proposal messaging and strategies
- Assist the Senior Manager, Proposals Team with internal requests for registrations, vendor forms, and other ad hoc requests
What we’re looking for:
- 3 years of demonstrated experience as a proposal manager responding to the public sector/government RFPs is required
- Construction project management or A/E/C industry experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Journalism, English, or Marketing is required; experience in technical proposal writing for the public sector, construction, or A/E/C markets is preferred
- Proficiency in creative design and proposal packaging using Adobe or similar software is key
- Knowledge and understanding of the public sector/government procurement industry and proposal best practices is required; knowledge and understanding of Software as a Service and Information Technology is preferred
- Experience with using Procore or other Construction Management technology is preferred; understanding of proposal management software such as RFPIO is a plus
- Possesses strong listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to deliver results that are clear, accurate, technically correct, responsive, and achieve messaging objectives paired with a willingness to contribute innovative ideas and lead special internal projects and processes
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills who embodies Procore’s values of Openness, Optimism, and Ownership
Base Pay Range $67,200-$92,400. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
