Job Description:Seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) who is open to on-site or virtualto join our team in providing essential support to students with communication needs. As a valued member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff.
- Full Time
- Hourly Rating:$50 (Depending on experience and qualification)
- W-2 Employment Contract for onsite positions Full Time employees are eligible for benefits
A Day in the Life as a School-Based Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI): In this role, you will provide interpreting services to students during classroom instruction, discussions, and other school activities. You will work closely with students and school staff to ensure effective communication and promote academic success. Additionally, you may assist with the development of educational materials and support students in developing language and literacy skills.
Qualifications to be a School-Based Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI):
- Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf Studies, or related field preferred
- Certification as a Educational Interpreter (EIPA) or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification preferred
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and adapt interpretations to meet students' individual needs
