COMPANY INFORMATION

Probi USA, Inc. is a contract manufacturer in the nutritional supplement marketplace, specializing in probiotics. We provide a wide variety of strains as single ingredients, or in custom formulations in bulk, capsules, tablets and fully finished bottled products for private labels and brands.

We are currently in the need of a full-time Quality Control Technician in our Quality Department. This position schedule is Tuesday–Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for execution of quality control processes throughout the facility including calibration, tracking, sample collection, sample analysis and reporting of materials, processes, and products to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards. Maintains the calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.

KEY JOB DUTIES

  • Sampling and inspection of incoming components and raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods using appropriate utensils, technique, and according to pre-defined sampling plans.
  • Submit samples to appropriate laboratories citing specified methods.
  • Perform physical analyses such as water activity, bulk density, pH, weight variation, friability, visual inspection, disintegration, and other tests as specified.
  • Perform OOS sampling and inspection processes as necessary.
  • Make disposition decisions on components, in-process materials, and finished products based on the
    materials’ specifications.
  • Draft certificates of analysis and compliance for customer use.
  • Calibrate and verify simple equipment and instruments.
  • Perform line clearances for both production and packaging lines.
  • Perform in-process checks, including food safety checks, as assigned.
  • Maintain workspaces in a clean, organized, and supplied state.

COMPANY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to read, write, and converse in the English language.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of conditions: noise, dust, heavy lifting, repetitive motion, standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to recognize audible hazards.
  • Follow GMP, PPE, and company safety policies in performance of job duties.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Perform other projects/ duties as assigned

WORK/EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

  • Two or more years’ experience in a science-related or production environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree. or; High School diploma/ GED with 1 or more years of related professional experience
  • Competencies
    o Basics
    - GMP, plant safety, general lab safety, prioritization and time management.

    - Basic arithmetic, elementary algebra.
    o Technology
    - Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook), Sharepoint, data visualization.
    o Quality Toolbox
    - 5-why analysis
    o Job Technical and Instrumentation
    - Aseptic technique, GDP, inspection and audit.
    - Force, dimension, and volumetric measurement, basic solution chemistry.
