Principal Financial Group is Hiring a Financial Analyst I Near Des Moines, IA

Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst I, you will have the opportunity to work and grow in a team environment here at Principal Financial Group. We are looking for someone who thrives on solving unique problems with advanced analytical skills and enjoys working with several internal partners and tools.

  • Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial information. Use technical skills to do financial research and calculations. Provide financial support to other departments.
  • Assist in the completion of assigned projects, including gathering and organizing information and statistical and financial analysis, with consideration to timing required and quality of work documentation needed, report on progress and final results. Projects will be under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Provide similar technical assistance to other departments involving research, statistical and financial analysis, and solving questions and problems.
  • Assist in the analysis and review of financial information.
  • Work towards self-development by expanding knowledge of department, line of Business, and industry.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Must have strong problem solving, leadership and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn, is preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills and Microsoft Office

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$46600 - $76000 / year
