Job Summary

The Pipe layer will perform pipe-laying tasks involving physical labor (laying, joining, wrapping, sealing) on the construction jobsites. and may operate hand and/or power tools as needed. The pipe layer will work with the construction Project Manager on assisting with necessary project resources from start to finish on time and within budget in a highly collaborative environment.

Job Duties: include but are not limited to:

• Lays, joins, aligns, wraps, and seals pipe sections, clay, concrete, and other type of pipes for conduits.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as directed by management
• Ability to perform tasks including physical labor as instructed by supervisor
• Operate vertical conveyance equipment as required to facilitate trades within the building
• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
• Perform general construction punch out duties.
• Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
• Load or unload construction materials.
• Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
• Remove, fill, or compact earth.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Assist craft workers.
• Monitor and enforce Covid-19 protocols with workers
• Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
• Perform site clean-up.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ experience on drainage and sewer projects.
• Knowledge on pipe installation on drainage, gravity sewer and water main.
• Hazard tools handling
• Must be able to provide own small tools and safety equipment such as steel-toed boots, gloves, and protective eye wear.
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and have a strong work ethic.
• Must be available to perform on-call emergency services when needed.
• Have proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with completing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to remain focused, efficient and effective in managing multiple priorities.
• Must have valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and management team.
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays if required.
